Umasa is a true ode to Indonesian cuisine, offering an authentic experience in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Ingredients are locally sourced and prepared using traditional methods. TA’AKTANA’s close ties to the local community are reflected in details such as the colourful batik napkins in the restaurants, crafted locally from recycled fabrics.

The restaurant presents a menu of local specialities, including Savu sea prawns garnished with rusip—a fermented fish condiment from the Bangka Belitung Islands near Sumatra—and pumpkin curry from Bajawa, a region in central Flores.

This distinctive robata grill restaurant offers a unique culinary experience with spectacular views. Robata, originating from northern Japan, is a traditional method of grilling over open charcoal. At Taba, however, the meat, fish and vegetable dishes draw on local provenance, with highlights such as freshly prepared sashimi and miso‑glazed aubergine.

Leros is an all‑day dining restaurant with a warm, elegant ambience. The superb Indonesian buffet and à la carte menu of familiar Western favourites are always given a distinctive island twist, featuring ingredients from Flores such as prawns, tofu, avocado and spring onions.

The coffee grounds from the resort’s own roastery are transformed into a coffee liqueur, served at the Pool Bar. Only beans from Flores and other Indonesian islands are used.

Set on the pier, Maiga Bar is the resort’s social hub. This open‑air bar offers a magnificent panorama and blends seamlessly with the surrounding natural beauty, combining a harmonious mix of natural woods and polished metals. Its design is inspired by the spice trade that once flourished along these coasts.

A distinctive feature of Maiga Bar is its collaboration with renowned Indonesian mixologists, such as Kiki Moka, which has resulted in an innovative cocktail menu.

This stylish lounge, located beside the lobby, offers a variety of tapas, small bites and an extensive selection of drinks, artisanal cocktails, coffee and tea. A highlight not to be missed is the unique tea ceremony, distinguished by the remarkable custom of holding a hot teacup against the forehead.

The art sculpture at the centre of the lounge is inspired by the traditions of local fishermen and the many coral reefs found in the area. In the adjacent lobby, newly arrived guests are welcomed with a choice of four bracelets, handcrafted by the local Manggarai community from recycled materials.

Open during the day, the Pool Bar serves refreshing drinks alongside a selection of light meals.
